We are seeking a Vice President of Marketplace Development for a growing healthcare solutions organization. This is an enterprise-level commercial growth role responsible for expanding revenue and market adoption across a portfolio of healthcare technology, pharmacy benefit and marketplace solutions.
The VP, Marketplace Development will identify, develop and close high-value opportunities across the healthcare ecosystem, including PBMs, health plans, employer groups, benefits brokers and consultants, third-party administrators (TPAs), pharmacy organizations, technology companies and strategic channel partners.
This is a highly visible, market-facing role for an accomplished business development executive who can build relationships, create pipeline, package complex solutions and convert opportunity into sustainable revenue.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Drive Growth & Revenue
Own business development activities across the organization’s portfolio of healthcare technology, pharmacy and marketplace solutions.
Prospect, develop and close high-value new business opportunities.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities and routinely present pipeline activity, forecasts and market intelligence to executive leadership.
Identify new revenue opportunities and collaborate internally to develop appropriate pricing, commercial and revenue models.
Develop new channel, reseller, referral, distribution and co-development opportunities that expand market reach and accelerate revenue growth.
Create commercial opportunities that generate sustainable value for both the organization and its partners.
Build Strategic Market Relationships
Develop deep, durable relationships across the healthcare ecosystem, including PBMs, health plans, TPAs, employer groups, brokers and consultants, pharmacy organizations, healthcare service companies and technology partners.
Engage senior executives and decision-makers to understand business challenges and identify opportunities for partnership.
Serve as a highly visible, market-facing representative of the organization and its complete solution portfolio.
Represent the organization at industry conferences, executive forums, strategic meetings and other relevant market events.
Build relationships that create both immediate revenue opportunities and longer-term strategic value.
Sell Complex Solutions
Translate customer and partner needs into integrated solutions utilizing multiple products, technologies and services.
Articulate complex value propositions clearly to executive and technical audiences.
Lead the negotiation of complex commercial agreements, strategic alliances, distribution arrangements and integrated solution partnerships.
Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure commercial agreements align with revenue objectives, regulatory requirements and operational capabilities.
Navigate sophisticated sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and decision-makers.
Structure opportunities that maximize partner success while creating sustainable economic value for the organization.
Shape Go-to-Market Strategy
Provide leadership with a clear view of evolving market demand, customer expectations, competitive activity and emerging opportunities.
Collaborate with product, operations, clinical, technology and finance teams to bring commercially viable opportunities from concept through implementation.
Help influence product positioning, packaging, pricing and go-to-market strategy based on direct market intelligence.
Continuously evaluate and refine commercial strategies as healthcare regulations, technology and customer needs evolve.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or a related discipline; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Approximately 5–10+ years of progressive business development, enterprise sales, strategic partnerships or commercial growth experience within healthcare, pharmacy benefits, PBM or pharmacy technology.
Demonstrated success generating revenue through complex B2B or enterprise sales.
Experience selling multi-product solution suites, technology platforms or integrated service offerings.
Strong understanding of the pharmacy and healthcare ecosystem, including PBMs and related stakeholders.
Established industry relationships and the ability to develop executive-level relationships quickly.
Experience negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements, partnerships and contracts.

Strong commercial mindset with a demonstrated ability to identify, develop and convert revenue opportunities.
Excellent executive communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
Strong financial and business judgment with the ability to evaluate the economics, risks and long-term potential of opportunities.
Ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams without relying solely on direct authority.
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities and opportunities can evolve quickly.
Resilient, commercially curious and comfortable navigating setbacks, ambiguity and complex sales cycles.
Ability to manage multiple opportunities and stakeholders simultaneously while maintaining focus on revenue outcomes.
Strong relationship-building skills with customers, partners, industry peers and other key stakeholders.
Ability to remain current on healthcare, pharmacy, technology and regulatory developments that may affect the marketplace.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This is a hybrid opportunity based in Tampa, Florida.
The role operates primarily within a professional office or home-office environment and requires prolonged periods of sitting or standing and regular use of standard computer, phone and office equipment.
As a senior, market-facing commercial position, flexibility outside traditional business hours may occasionally be required to support customers, partners, conferences and business opportunities.
Travel may be required up to approximately 50% during certain periods of the year.
