HR SOUL is currently recruiting for an Inside Sales rep to support a high-volume, relationship-driven foodservice sales organization. This role owns early-stage lead engagement, qualification, and pipeline discipline, ensuring opportunities are consistently advanced through a structured sales cycle.
The Inside Sales Repreentative serves as the primary point of contact for inbound and outbound leads, partnering closely with field sales, marketing, operations, and finance to deliver a seamless customer experience. This role is highly systems-driven, requiring strong CRM discipline, follow-up consistency, and commercial judgment.
Weekly / Bi-Weekly Responsibilities
Conduct structured outreach to new leads generated from food shows, marketing campaigns, inbound inquiries, and distributor or operator referrals.
Qualify leads, assess opportunity potential, and document all interactions in Salesforce.
Maintain consistent follow-up cadences to ensure steady movement through the sales cycle.
Coordinate sample requests, track delivery status, and follow up for feedback and next steps.
Prepare and distribute product information, pricing sheets, and follow-up materials to support the sales team.
Provide weekly pipeline updates and lead-status summaries to sales leadership and the field team.
Monthly Responsibilities
Prepare monthly pipeline reports, including lead conversion metrics, opportunity progression, and follow-up performance.
Review pricing files, product specifications, and customer documentation and request updates as needed.
Support preparation for bi-monthly sales meetings with data summaries, insights, and follow-up action items.
Audit CRM data for accuracy to ensure clean records for forecasting and planning.
Track marketing-generated leads and evaluate ROI from food shows and promotional campaigns.
Ongoing & Cross-Functional Support
Serve as the primary point of contact for early-stage customer and distributor inquiries.
Maintain organized documentation for pricing, product specifications, lead lists, and follow-up materials.
Collaborate with operations, logistics, finance, and marketing to support customer needs and execution.
Research operators, distributors, and regional opportunities to support lead generation efforts.
Troubleshoot service issues and escalate appropriately to ensure timely resolution.
Maintain strong product knowledge to support customer conversations and opportunity qualification.
Identify opportunities to streamline inside-sales processes and improve lead-to-opportunity conversion.
Lead Qualification & Sales-Cycle Discipline
Ability to assess opportunity potential, identify decision-makers, and move leads through structured sales stages.
Applies consistent follow-up cadences, clear next-step planning, and disciplined documentation.
Foodservice Sales & Distribution Knowledge
Working knowledge of foodservice distribution models, operator needs, product specifications, and purchasing behaviors.
Engages prospects confidently and asks effective qualification questions.
CRM Mastery & Data Accuracy
Maintains clean, accurate Salesforce records reflecting real-time pipeline activity.
Uses CRM tools to manage touchpoints, follow-ups, and reporting that supports forecasting and visibility.
Communication & Customer Engagement
Communicates clearly and professionally across operators, distributors, and internal teams.
Demonstrates strong listening skills and adapts communication style based on audience.
Organization & Execution
Manages multiple leads, follow-up streams, sample requests, and documentation simultaneously.
Maintains strong attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Education & Technical Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
Salesforce experience required; familiarity with additional CRM platforms is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and enterprise systems such as SAP preferred.
Foundational understanding of foodservice distribution and operator needs beneficial.
Experience & Career Commitment
8–10 years of professional experience, including 5+ years in foodservice, CPG, distribution, or a customer-facing commercial environment.
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required.
Proven experience qualifying leads, managing structured follow-up cycles, and advancing early-stage opportunities.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and documentation streams simultaneously.
Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through and reliability.
Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and exceptional customer service.
Interest in building a long-term career in foodservice sales and growing commercial capabilities.
