We’re seeking a Flavor Applications Manager to lead a talented team in developing and applying innovative flavor solutions that elevate products, delight consumers, and strengthen customer partnerships. This is a high-impact role for someone passionate about flavor innovation and hands-on product development.

What You’ll Do

  • Flavor Development & Applications: Lead creation, testing, and optimization of flavors across sweet and savory products, including beverages, syrups, confectionery, and enhancers. Make confident, informed flavor decisions for customers and internal teams.
  • Customer & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, marketing, and clients to understand needs, develop prototypes, and co-create solutions. Adapt approaches based on customer requirements, balancing expertise with flexibility.
  • Project Management & Innovation: Manage briefs and multiple projects end-to-end, ensuring timely delivery, documentation, and alignment with business strategy. Identify root problems and anticipate challenges.
  • Team Leadership: Directly manage and mentor a small team, fostering a collaborative, results-oriented, and innovative culture.
  • Quality, Safety & Compliance: Maintain lab safety, technical excellence, and adherence to regulatory standards while continuously improving processes.

What You Bring

  • Technical Expertise: Hands-on flavor development and application experience, strong sensory skills, and solid knowledge of the US sweet and savory flavor market. Background in food, beverage, or flavor houses required.
  • Behavioral Skills: Highly collaborative, adaptable, and customer-focused. Strong communication skills, solutions-driven mindset, and ability to manage cross-cultural interactions (including Europe and Asia).
  • Experience & Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field. 7+ years in flavor or food applications/product development with at least 2 years in leadership. Experience managing briefs, analytical problem-solving, and professional certifications a plus.
